Now the button opens for you!
Christian and Manuel Weber, designer duo from Vienna, are treasure hunters. They search for treasures of nature, which are turned into buttons by hand. Unique buttons made of natural materials for blazers, jackets, overshirts, shirts, polos.
ADORNMENT WITH FUNCTION
Since ancient times, the button was only an ornament. Closing garments were made with ribbons. It was not until the 13th century that the button acquired its present function. This groundbreaking invention was made in Germany.
FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE SEAS
Freshwater mussels are the suppliers of mother-of-pearl for the buttons on WEBER+WEBER shirts. The guardians of healthy ecosystems belong to the naiad family. Their godmothers were the Greek nymphs of springs, rivers, lakes and streams. Buttons made from freshwater mussels are white and durable. They have a uniform surface with minor inclusions. Buttons made from the shell of freshwater mussels are biodegradable.
TREASURE OF THE PALMS
Stone nuts are the fruits of the stone nut palm. When their fruit balls are dried in the sun, they become as hard as stone. Stone nuts were discovered for processing into buttons during the reformist period from 1900 to 1920. Buttons made from stone nuts had a brief revival in the 1970-ies. After that they were forgotten and rediscovered by WEBER+WEBER for overshirts and jackets.
UNIQUE PIECES OF NATURE
Buffalo horn is a legendary raw material for hand-turned buttons. The biological natural material is elastic, pressure-resistant and malleable. It is harder than wood and more flexible than bone. In addition, buffalo horn is not flammable. Every button made of buffalo horn is unique. Distinctive, unique, indestructible. Ideal for the summer blazer from Fresco.
